However, you should not expect that in the character of the Dalmatian there are some pluses. There are also disadvantages: these dogs are quite touchy and vindictive.

The Dalmatian is more suitable for an experienced owner who is able to combine reasonable firmness (without violence) with affection. Rudeness in relation to the Dalmatian is unacceptable - it will only make the pet irritable, insecure and nervous.

Dalmatian is active and energetic, so he needs intense physical activity. Walking should be long and not boring. If you want to practice cynological sports (for example, freestyle or agility), Dalmatian can be a good choice.

The nature of the Dalmatian towards children

By nature, the Dalmatian is friendly, sociable and cheerful. It would seem - an ideal dog for a family with children. However, not all so simple.

Dalmatians are quite touchy and vindictive. And despite the fact that they will easily find a common language with any member of the family and will willingly play with children, these dogs will not tolerate familiarity. So only a well-educated, socialized Dalmatian will be tolerant of the child, and even then if your child does not allow himself too much. Therefore, it is not recommended to start Dalmatian in a family with preschool children.

In any case, teach your child how to handle the dog. Prohibit offending a pet, disturbing during sleep and eating. If the Dalmatian is tired of communication and wants to retire, he should have such an opportunity.
